Wednesday Jul 11, 2012
On this program we witness the depletion of two valued commodities: money and water. First guest is UCI economics professor Stergios Skaperdas, wrapping our minds around the budding financial scandal triggered by Barclay Bank's manipulation of the London Inerbank Offered Rate or the LIBOR. The second half of the show, James "Jay" Famiglietti, UCI hydrologist, earth system science, and civil engineering professor talks about the making of the recently released film, "Last Call at the Oasis," offering credit to the progressive resource management of the OC Wastewater Management Authority and Irvine Ranch Water District. Prior to the film's release as a DVD, viewers can arrange a showing at any theater through Tugg.com. Famiglietti also offers small to large ways that water can be conserved. Happy 100th Birthday to Woody Guthrie this coming Saturday!
