Climate scientist and 2012 Nobel Prize Winner along with IPCC colleagues, Penn State Professor Michael Mann offers his latest book for the holidays and the next four years, "The Madhouse Effect: How Climate Change Denial is Threatening Our Planet, Destroying Our Politics and Driving Us Crazy. This book is illustrated by Washington Post political cartoonist Tom Toles. During the second segment founder and President of Muslims for Progressive Values, Ani Zonneveld; and Jordan Elgrably, founding director of The Markaz; consider the uptick of marginalization of Muslims in the US amidst the transition to the new administration. Jennifer Chacón, UCI professor of law offers definitive analysis of the status of immigration policy heading into the Trump administration. Undocumented UC students, or an undocumented family member of the UC system (parent or spouse), qualify for assistance from the University of California Undocumented Students Legal Services Center. They can contact UCUSLSC at law.ucdavis.edu/uc-undocumented. Students may qualify for assistance with their DACA renewal applications or screening for other potential remedies, but they need to contact UCUSLSC for more information. Also, those in OC looking to renew DACA applications should call the Public Law Center at (714) 541-1010. They are having some renewal fairs. This Friday night, Dec 2nd at 8 pm, University Synagogue will host a special post-election discussion lead by Rabbi Rachlis with special guest UCI Law School Dean Erwin Chemerinsky. Welcome to our standing tradition on election days. We morph the show into Ask A Voter in honor of citizens around the country who participate in the electoral process.
